Which camera - Sony W170 or Panasonic FX37

Featured Replies

On recent hols my second camera came a cropper (cheap digi - have a Sony Alpha 350 as main camera).

Need a new cheapish second camera. Argos has Sony DSC W170 for £107 & can get a Panasonic FX37 for around £147.

This would be used mainly by SWMBO as a 'handbag' camera.

Can't make mind up.

I used to be indecisive but now i'm not sure.;)

Any suggestions?

£100 off the Sony DSC T77 making it 149.00. I'm tempted myself at that price.

Buy SONY DSC-T77 BLACK | 10 megapixel digital camera - Cameras & Camcorders | Comet

I wouldn't bother TBH. I got a T77 and not impressed. fair enough the touchy screeny element works well, but there are a few too many menus to navigate for a point and shoot, and the battery life is abominible.

The picture quality is at best, average. Too soft and lacks definition, no matter what setting is used.

I'd go Panasonic or Canon, or if you must have Sony, get an Alpha.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to take a run out to Comet today to have a look at that T77, didn't get time in the end, looks like you saved me a trip.
