Dropping my Octy with Eibach Springs

Featured Replies

Is this a good idea as usually it makes for a crap ride when you don't uprate the struts as well.

Any body done it and can give advise would be helpful.

Dunno mate, but I'll be doing it soon as well...

The search button is your friend, as there are loads of posts and threads about this subject.

DO NOT fit Eibach springs to a Mk1 Octy vRS as Eibach do not make a specific spring for the car, and if you fit them the poundage will be totally wrong for the car.

Eibach confirmed this to me.

Been there, and got the tee shirt.

Are you a clarevoiant? sikik thingi?

ROFL - sorry this is quite funny - don't even need the search button. See http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/mk-i-vrs-handling-woes-please-help/141857/ on this very same page.

Perhaps a visit to SpecSavers then for some on here, instead of the search button.

Its now a sad fact on this forum, that its easier to just post a question without searching or looking, and expect an answer.?

The Mk1 Octy vRS has been about since 2001, and most things have been done to them and discussed on here, so there should be every reason to assume that the answer is in the search section, but its easier to post than to look.

Now whilst we are all helpful and will assist, and that is the aim of the forum, it does get a little bit annoying to see the same questions asked, over and over again.

Not again! yeah have to agree, loads of threads about this! What i did when looking for a set of springs for my vrs, i um....did a search! and found out which were the best ones to get, it pays to look through the old threads you can learn alot.

Yes it is easier than searching because you get so much other **** that you waste more time looking through old posts that aint even relavent.

I don't own a VRS but thank you for the info. Its a 2000 SLXi Turbo in green it has a stearing wheel and 4 other wheels that it uses to grip the road. There is also a useful switch I sometimes use when it rains it helps me see better.

All I can really say is how utterly terible I feel right now for making you guys have to take 2 seconds out of your day to read 2 lines but I know how difficult that is for some of you.

Mate dont take it the wrong way we are not having a go at you, well im not sorry if it seemed like this.:)

But the same questions do come up quite alot, eibach springs being one of them.

Ok to answer your question, you are better of getting uprated dampers first if your looking for better handling, with the oem springs.

If your looking to go lower then yes a set of matching springs, Eibach may well do a set for your car, in which case not being a VRS should be fine, but best to check first.

If you just go for lowering springs then yes the ride will be crap and bouncy and the original dampers will not last long.

I think the general warning not to fit Eibach springs to a Vrs was aimed at post 2 by jonnycatbiscuit as he does have a Vrs.

Good point Lex.

Cheers gmaster and I really do mean that. I won't bother watching them on ebay now.

I get what your saying about there being a lot of posts but rather than search I just ask my question get on with my day and then check back later its just easier than reading a load of posts that arn't relevant.

I'm sorry for being such a baby.

I agree with everyone.

Really just want to boost my post count!

Like everyone says don't bother had them on mine for less than a week, handled and rode terrible and the front was sat 20mm higher.

as they have all said i wouldnt use em it aint like there aint plenty of others to choose from
