Springs - fitting charges

Featured Replies

how much do you lot think is a fair price for fitting some lowering springs, including geo setup aswell

ive had two prices so far for fitting of Eibachs (25mm), one of £290 and another of £350, both all in prices

I was charged £150-ish by Unit 18 to fit springs, shocks, front and rear bushes and RARB. And it was done right, by someone who knew what they were doing (Ross/Lummox). It looks cheap because he had everything off in one hit, so it was less time all in.

If you're anywhere near Milton Keynes/Wellingborough at all you really ought to be getting Unit 18 to quote you. I don't know what he would charge for just the springs, but even if he's 100 miles away, it's only £20 in diesel and you'll know it's been done properly, and he'll actually advise you about stuff that's (not) worth doing at the same time, if anything.

I think Awesome currently have the best price on Eibachs, although TTS in Bedford were doing Eibach's fitted at Christmas for £200 all in, so that gives you an idea of the just over break-even price.

I'd expect around £160 to £200 fitted with geo setup.

You not considered doing it yourself? The tool for opening the hub is about £12 from vag.

I'm paying £40 for my springs to be fitted.... But I know the guy.

see thats more of the kind of figure i was expecting, ill give him a pm

Just out of curiousity what's involved with the geometry set-up?

I'm just asking as a local VW dealer said they'd fit the springs but it wasn't necessary to have anything adjusted in any way!

only thing really needs checking is the tracking

Why not do it yourself, the backs are a piece of cake, fronts are more difficult but i done mine with out the hub spreading tool which i was told you dont need, apparently the best way to do the fronts is undo the driveshaft nut and pull the disc off the spline and then its less work, you will also need a 14mm spline bit.

Backs are a definite DIY job
