Are lowering springs available for the Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

Good morning Im after lowering springs for my vRS. I think it will look and handle sweet on a 35mm drop.

  • What are the pro`s and con`s of doing this?
  • What shall I opt for: new or 2nd hand?
  • What other things am I gonna need to modify when lowering?
  • What is the "toe" and "chamber"? Will it be affected and or need touching?
  • and what else have i missed out or not thought about?!?!?!

cheers boys and girls

have you managed to find many 35mm srpings ?

most on here seem to get the 25mm Eibachs, or go for coilovers

I bought some Apex springs that had a 40mm drop on them. looks very smart!n only cost £90 too :D

But what was your starting point?

Standard vRS or not?

Yeah - that was the reason for my question.

The suggestion of a 40mm drop might be OK if the starting point is higher, but it could confuse things for the OP who has a vRS.

Ah yes thats a good point it was standard, vertigo inducing, ride height! which is 15mm higher than a standard VRs so would be a 25mm drop........ so all the same then...... oops!!!

I personally think that you would be disappointed with 30mm.

The bodywork (as in the top of the arch) of the fabia, even on the vrs, sits about 70mm from the wheel.

I personally think 45mm minimum is needed to look respectable.

wouldnt 45mm lead to problems with speed bumps etc

Na I dont get any problems with speed bumps. Just take them slow. Havnt bottomed out yet.

Here are some pics. sorry for the dirt and drivers side wing mirror.

I originally had the adjusters out and the rear arch sat about 1mm above the rear tyre but the fronts were higher, so it looked daft, and bringing the front any lower would be damn silly.

Thats on ap coilovers, rear adjusters in but all the way down, and fronts about 2/3 of the way down.

I've got my Fabia vRS lowered from standard 30mm on KW springs. You can see below how it looks & what other mod's have been done to the suspension. No problems going over speed bumps either.

Thanks for the advice so far... But I left something out.....

I already have Koni Ajustable Shocks (front and rear with bushes - whatever they are) I have the "spider" 17s alloys (from the Octy mk1) on atm, but am gonna swap back to stock alloys for lowering.

So Im after the look say "KTP" has or well something along that line, but I live in Uxbridge and speed humps are :Yikes::Yikes: massive (so not damaging low;))

:handshke:

got some eibach -35mm springs off my car if your intersted you have a pm
