Bought a Octavia VRS at the weekend but found no proof of cambelt changes! so i booked her straight into my local garage for cambelt, water pump, engine gearbox brake fulid change and a new front spring as it had snapped.

Getting her back tonight at a cost of £430, overall i think thats quite a good deal, much better than shelling out £££'s if the cambelt snaps or pump fails,

What you guys think? cheap?

Good price mate, I've seen quotes of £800 for that much work.

May be it would have been better to have checked this out with the person / dealer whome you purchased the car from if it was apparent from the service book that the car had not been serviced correctly probably best to walk away, however the work you had done seems reasonable.

Well i got the car for 1700, T&T so thought it would of been a good deal either way, has FSH every 12k.

As long as the oil's ok, the only things you should think about doing are brake fluid change, and check the antifreeze SG using the special G12 tester. Or maybe just drain and refill with G12+; it's "long life", not "infinite life".
