Help! Rattling noise turning left. Just before holiday

Featured Replies

When turning left I get a rattling/knock noise. You can hear it at slow speeds, say manouvering around a car park. The frequency of the noise changes depending on speed. Does it sound like anything I should be immediatly concerned about? I'm off to the Lake District tomorrow for my hols so particularly bad timing. With 4-5 hour drive ahead I could really do without this hassle!

Does it sound like it could be a wheel bearing?

It could be the CV joint. Does it only happen in one direction (left - right not forward reverse :))

Got it sorted. I managed to get the dealer to squeeze me in because of my hol. So big thanks to Underwoods of Colchester.

They were not 100% sure but after pulling out the nearside pads, cleaning things up and putting them back its stopped the noise. It was like something was causing the pads to get knocked hence the rattle. They mentioned there is a slight tight point at one spot which they mentioned could be CV joint but as the noise has stopped touch wood its sorted.

Was getting worried we would have to take missus 59BHP fiesta. Not plesent prospect.
