Airbag Problem

Featured Replies

Lads just wondering if anybody could advice on a problem i have with my RS. Today the airbag warning started to stay in the dash and airbag fault showing up on the display when i start the car. The car is 2 years old and just 4 weeks out of warranty, rang the dealer he said he would not cover the problem:thumbdwn:. Anybody have any idea of what it could be. Thanks in advance

Likely to be a connector problem under your seat. It's a known problem. My last vRS went back a few times to have it fixed.

Get back onto the dealer and ask them to contact Skoda for you. I know that Volkswagen cover airbag related faults for five years and I think Skoda are the same.

No probs, I doubt you'll notice much under the seat. Obviously due to it being completely changed by Skoda there's something not right with them.

Btw You have a PM

Worth getting both passenger and drivers seat sorted at the same time.

Your warranty should be 3 years BTW.

Your warranty should be 3 years BTW.

Only if bought through the UK dealer network. i.e. and not from a car supermarket.

Good idea, both mine were done at the same time.

Also IIRC the fault MUST be on the car when it goes in as a copy of the printout goes to Skoda, well that was the way it was in my case.

Lads thanks for the help. checked conections under both seats. All seems to be ok,so back to the dealer i go as the warning is still on. No such luck as to have a 3 year warranty here in Ireland. Gaff pm sent

The light will remain on anyhow until cleared.

I had some issues with mine getting resolved, the fault was cleared but no printout taken for Skoda....they weren't getting out of it that easy ;)

I'll clear the light for you if you want. I'm in Cork. PM me.
