Finally Saw One In Action

Featured Replies

Silver Sup2, gotta say it didn't light my fire, it looked bad if I'm honest, too rounded (arched) from behind, side profile looked like a limo with a Hyundai Accent rear bolted on, I'm gonna pass on this one even though the car itself is a good car, I can't get over that styling or lack of it to buy one tbh, Passat looks favorite right now.

Not a post to offend anyone btw, just saying what I saw, it's all about individual taste at the end of the day.

I think the wheelbase between the wheels is too long, it's all out of proportion, maybe moving the C pillar forward a few inches might make all the difference so the shape of the boot is more boot like, I dunno.

The passat and new superb, although they are about the same size share nothing between them unlike the old superb/passat. I have yet to see a superb2 closeup and give it a goog look over, so I am still reserving my judgement.

The passat is a much heavier car, and also has its quirks. When I drove one as a rental car, the thing that annoyed me most was the electronic handbrake which is a button on the dash. The handbrake failed to auto release constantly, which meant endless stalling on hill starts. When it worked it was sort of ok though, it just didnt work 99% of the time.

After driving two and seeing 5 in the flesh it has grown on me and I quite like the look of it..........just waiting for the estate now :)

I believe that in the new superb the color of the car is a big gun in order to like the car or not.

For example i went to Skoda Cyprus and i saw the new superb in platin grey metallic color and it was so ugly when i was watching the rear. I almost rejected the car but i changed my mind when i saw the test drive car - cappuccino beige metallic-. I tottaly loved the car and i ordered one with the same color.

So color played a big role in my dissision of the car. Visit your local stores and see one in flesh in order to disside if the car has good looks or not.

I think you are right, the red one looked real nice when I saw one, the silver one just looked odd tbh, so darker the colour better the look eh?

Its a bit like the Jag XF, thats a very 'colour senstitive' car. It looks great in some colours (black) but on the other hand looks dodgy in other colours (white).

I'm hoping the Superb Combi will look more proportioned.

I saw my first one today (only in my rear view mirror tho!) a Grey Met one , looks quite good in the metal i think , dont know what model it was.

I saw my 1st one on the road on Wed, it was a silver Taxi, and a classy one at that. I do like them a lot actually.

I have only seen 3 New Superbs on the road in 6 months!

That's still 3 more than I have seen (apart from my own).

However I'm sure I will see Darrenm's shortly - if not by accident, then by design.

A.

I read somewhere the other day that Superbs are selling well on the continent. With the £ to Euro exchange rate low it's in Skodas interest to concentrate on supplying the continent in preference to the UK.

The back isn't nice on the new superb, The new octavia is nice yet the new fabia isn't.
