Says on the face 4x50W. Is that peak power, or RMS?

Depends on what the manufacturer is quoting, it could be either.

All it says is 50W x 4 High Power Amplifier

I think its peak power rather than RMS. Looking at the alpine website its quoted as "Maximum output" rather than peak.

I just bought one of these off another member (thanks Louis) and its a great headunit, looked through the paperwork and it doesnt say either peak or rms however, what do you want to use the standar damp for with 3 preouts fitted as standard;)
