Gutted.....

Featured Replies

Not what you think, no crashed or owt daft, but got in tonight and had some Jamex 50mm springs waiting for me, after driving around in whats felt like 4x4 for god knows how long, I was rather eager to get these fitted, infact in my last bit of daylight, i decided to fit the rears as it doesn't take long, anyway, long story short, I've fitted them and am well and truely gutted, they don't look any different, I know they need to 'settle' but I was always on the understanding that it only gives and extra few mm, so now im in a position and don't know what to do :(..

still, gotta figure a way of gettin money back for these....

sell them on the forum?

Get some VMaxx ones.... same feel as KW V1's and nice and cheap....

To those that dont have them try them ;) then slate them but they have rave reviews over on sites like ED38

And at the end of the day its a Skoda Fabia lol no need to spend $$$$$

Thing with the Furby bein sooooooooo high in the first place is you need a fairly hefty drop on them. Lissy is on colies, think shes gone down about 70 maybe 80mm now, been changed a few times I've lost track, but doesnt particularly look dropped... untill you park her next to a standard one and then you can see the difference. Trick is to just go around parking next to standardfurbys belonging to old people and make yourself feel better when you see it! Hope u get somethin sorted that suits tho.

apart from a looks point of view, I'm not convinced these cheapish coilovers that are popping up all over the shop can be much cop - looking back at what (half?) decent mtb forks/shocks have cost they seem too cheap, and lacking in adjustability

 50mm is 2 inches! Unless you've fitted them wrong or the springs are wrong there should be a great different. Have you actually driven it... Or even let the handbrake off to settle the suspension?

na, i took it for a drive as soon as i did it, and i've even made sure the springs are sat correctly in the cups.

I may take some photos lol, get some opinions on this.

I bet if you parked your car next to my standard vrs it would look like it was on stilts :D

lowered.jpg

does that look lowered to anyone?

Well, whenever I look at my non lowered car the gap above the wheel looks bigger than the gap on either side.. so, from what I can see at least.. it does look lower as the wheel seems more neatly positioned within the arch.

.

Yea - next to some other cars perhaps it doesnt, but for a furby thats low! You gotta look at what you started with really, and as stated before, the Furby is insanely high to start with. Go park next to a standard one ;)

Might be lower than standard fella but you need it as low as you can 'picture' it in ya head ;)

THATS LOW? LOL

deary me, it was raining yesterday, I sat under there for shelter......by heck, I wanna be a fair bit lower, just been and measured for Jamex, there is still a 9cm gap in from top of tyre to arch.

thats a "literaly just dropped 50mm" piccy of Lissy if that helps ya?

Someone with a standard one want to measure? Dont think thats a 50mm gap myself

DSC00731.jpg and even that doesnt look low to me. I got 10mm left on threads and will more than likely just floor her - will deal with the "oh crap I cant get out of the village" issue another day

low is subframe catching on cats eyes! as one of the guys from another club I am in has issues with
