the handling is good, but south yorks is like pothole county, so for me it can be a little harsh as times, but on a nice flat road, the handling is improved vastly.

I would just reccomend getting uprated dampers too if u want a better ride.

Yeh, tis the front thats bouncy, and does sound like mine, altho that isnt what the video is of, its T. Spark driving on a private road in my car, how he's driving is the reason I darent post it up lol

uprated dampers will probably lift the ride height by 10-15mm, worth bearing in mind

I was unaware of this, why is this?, if you look at the red VRS on the page previous that has apex springs and dampers and actually sits lower on the rear than mine......so now im confused...

That looks really good now! I have some spare cash to get some springs to go with my dampers, the stance looks great just not sure about the ride?

ride is a little bouncy on front, but nothing decent dampers wouldnt sort out IMO.

either way, worth it for me, I can cope with a bouncy ride so long as the car looks good - how vain lol

Like for like springs and shocks are the best imho.

i.e. Eibach springs & shocks, they lower the ride height, making the stance much better, and the skip handles like it's on rails ( albeit it has the rear arb ) and although the 'ride' is firmer, it's not spine breaking. Decent tyres help as well.

So many choices, I have Koni sport dampers to go on but was thinking of eibachs for the ride but I also would like to drop the old furby as she looks like she is on stilts! I do have a RARB on order too?

What to do...

what do Koni springs lower it by?

I think they maybe 40mm but not sure? I also don't know if there any good!

  • Author

well i would try them first personally, as it would be setup as the manufacturers intended it

  • 2 weeks later...

are any of these cars with 50mm riding on new dampers or "lowered/shorter" dampers? I have read on sites selling springs that if you want 50mm springs you need shorter dampers? I have koni adjustable dampers to go on and have seen a car with 40mm koni springs... doesnt look as good as the 50's :D but i dont want to get 50's if there going to cause a problem?

Sorry.....wrong thread

Iv got standard dampers in mine and 50mm springs have been looking for uprated dampers but not yet found any for my budget

the stanard ones make the front of the car very bouncy (im my case anyway)

michael

Cheers vRS Danny, just ordered some of those springs :D you got the last set thou, so have too wait a few weeks now
