hi. i have a 2001 octavia estate and the boot door is not locking. have tried using both central locking and by key but no joy. have taken trim off to have a look and their is a noise cming from part of the lock system and a some movement from that but no movement in the rod that gos to the lock. has my door lock need replacing or anyone got any ideas?

i aint technically/diy minded so be gentle lol

I had a similar problem with mine, turned out the mechanism was jammed. A bit of lube sorted it out, been fine ever since.

have tried cleaning it and using some wd 40 but hasnt done anything! opens and shuts ok so dunno why it wont lock by central locking or by key!

Had it happen on an old rover of mine, a bit of lube and some manual action on the rod fixed that, hopefully it'll be the same
