Hi All

Power steering warning light problems with my X-reg Fabia Classic 1.4. The light comes on when starting resulting in heavy steering. If I turn the ignition off then on again light goes out and steering returns to normal. Could it be a general electrical sensor problem as the Electronic Engine Management light also comes on and stays on for days at a time then goes out again? The car always seems to run normally.

I also have a knocking sound under the vehicle when travelling over uneven surfaces. Sounds like the exhaust hitting the underside of the car but this has been checked out.

Any suggestions anyone?

Small clunk sound now developed when applying brakes whilst travelling in reverse. Recently had new pads fitted to the front brakes, could this be the source of the problem? :confused:

EPAS problems are common on these cars, they share the same pump as the VW polo. EPAS, is an ongoing experiment. Do you know if your car has EPAS (electric power assisted steering) or HPAS (hydraulic assisted power steering)
