Oil Thread

Featured Replies

There is an oil thread, lots of stuff on there, but what would be best for best performance?

Dry sump and thinnest oil spec possible.

as the Fabia VRS isn't a performance car , what is the point of wasting valuable hard earned cash on expensive so-called performance enhancing oils

just make sure you use the correct spec oil for the PD engine , 505.01 , 5w40

i use Millers PD-XE it seems to work well until it spills all over the road :D

Casatrol Edge does the job for me

Hello One & All,

As regards to oil, I think as long as oil used is the Skoda reconized grade, as opposed to an oil company Skoda supports

I think, from reading the oil tread on SCN, the Halfords stuff is actually made by Comma, is Fully Synthetic and meets all the spec. I personally use the Millers stuff, but as a cheaper alternative the Halfrauds oil is OK. Others on here may say use Castrol oil but it only comes in 4 litre bottles, you need more to do an oil change.
