More Than insurance

Featured Replies

Anyone had any dealings with them for a claim?

They seem to be giving me the most competitive quote after an hour or so of research this morning.Tesco always used to be the cheapest and always been happy with their service (only ever had to make policy amendments, no claims touch wood) but my renewal quote isn't great since swapping my Focus for the Fab - nearly £600 on my Fabia VRS with 5+ protected NCD, legal, courtesy and £250 voluntary excess, while Morethan is roughly £450 for same cover. Would quite like to keep with Tesco as I have a multi-car discount going on with my old Transit. Maybe worth a try haggling a bit with Tesco before jumping companies?

More than were the cheapest for me, think I paid £280, and got £40 quidco cashback. So effectively cost me less than £250.

No idea what claiming is like, and I hope I never have to find out.

Whats that quidco cashback all about? What do you have to do, whats the smallprint??

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I worked for them for eighteen years. Their first party claims service is appalling.

Let me google that for you ;)

No real small print, they [quidco] take the first £5 you earn in the year for themselves. Other than that, the rest of the money is yours. Generally takes 3ish months for the payment to credited to your bank account / paypal account.

All you have to do is visit morethan website via quidco to earn the money. Just make you clear cache and cookies prior

I'm using More Than for the first time this year - however I've not yet had to make a claim so cannot comment on that side of things.

More Than came in cheaper than anyone else for my Octy vRS.

On top of that I'm on a £100 excess (£50 Compl, £50 vol) as opposed to £250 - £300 on the other quotes I got.

Doesn't everyone say that about the companies they work for themselves? But thanks for the inside info, you do get what you pay for I suppose...

I HATE insurance - I mean they must all be basically competent in the event of a claim or they wouldn't be in business, so hard to decide between the simply cheap quotes or who you are used to / better recommended...

Quidco are usually quite good.

Try Kwik Fit, they are under written by Fortis

I'm with MoreThan and when someone smashed into the back of me they were brilliant. Just make sure you opt for the personal customer manager, Means you get a person in the UK, and usually the same person. Also, I got a personal claims manager so I got someone who knew where my claim was at etc...very good IMO...due for renewal though now, so will se how they compare!

Not sure about More Than but I know Tesco are very good at handling claims, was in a 2 car accident, my word against other dude, no witnesses... Tesco fought for months to prove me right... was pretty amazing :P

Guys, they are surely all the same. Some will have good experiences while others will have bad.

some insurers are better than others, rbs who own churchill, tesco, direct line etc are uk based, some of the other insurers have centres based offshore too and this is where customer service/experience often sadly lacks...

Are More Than UK based? One of my pet hates were the well meaning but annoying Indian call centres used by an old insuarance company - much rather speak to a nice Northern lass :D

No, Bangalore.

Yeah, thats where they have names on the boards that are allocated to the operatives at the start of their shift. David is the most common name! Being Asian, i just go off in one in Hindi. Always a good laugh as they aren't aloud to use Hindi. Is an operative asks you how the weather is or anything about Eastenders, HANG UP!

Everything is scripted and they are not aloud to think outside the box. :thumbdwn:

I had a claim with more than and had no issues at all, agreed to repair costs stright away and car was repaired to a very good standard.
