Hi Guys

Just looking to see if anyone knows where I could lay my hands on a Electronic Ignition System for a:

1975 Toyota HiAce, with a 1.6L Petrol Engine.

or a specialist Jap engine seller

I believe there are aftermarket systems that you can install - but they cost quite a bit of money and need lots of configuring etc.

Edit: sorry I thought you were referring to an ECU that controlled ignition. I'm guessing a 75 HiAce probably doesn't have that.

Nope it is just the Ignition System I am looking for. I know you can get them but it finding out where to get them.

The Hi Ace had a few different camper van shapes but the shape isn't important it is what is underneath it I am looking for.

So far I have emailed around 20 suppliers and 4 of them were those part shop directory places which contact other part suppliers for you. so I think it works out to be around 50 or so companies I have contacted.

However after a painful search of ebay I think I may have located a set of ignition points. From the picture they look the right ones but the only way I will be able to tell is once I have them in my hand to measure and compare them.

Anyway I am still going to be looking for a electronic ignition system (will only get it if the price is right and if it is guaranteed to work) just a bit more info for those in the know of the world of engines it is a Toyota 12R 1600cc engine.
