a couple hours out with me and ill have you getting 10% more

Well on a recent trip of 60 miles i decided to reset both readings on the Maxidot and the trip reset.

Great results Carl - especially with yours running a little more than normal

What correction factor did you end up using when adjusting the trip comp accuracy?

Steve

Hello all

I normaly get around 9.6-10.6 l/100km around town depending on how much I use the power without hammering it. Driving here in Canberra is pretty easy - plenty of main road, some freeway, light traffic.

For interests sake, I thought I would see how much I could improve that figure by changing my driving habits. So for the last few days, have been driving like a granny. Actually, not a granny, but like an economy run specialist. Minimum revs, smallest throttle opening, tallest gear possible while keeping up with traffic. Maintain momentum at all times and bypass gears (ie1-3-5-6) and keep revs between 1500-2500. My figure improved to around 8.7 l/100kms. Shows what can be done.

But it's deathly boring and hard work. So i am off out to wring its neck, have a fang and put the smile back on my face. That's why I bought it.

cheers

2.0CR TDi - 8000 miles and an average of 49.1 mpg showing on average 2. Checked against fill to brims and is within 5% accurate

IIRC I had to change it to 109 to make it accurate to the figures I was getting using fuel receipts.

It may still be out but I can get 620 miles from one tank and that is outstanding for a car with 300lb/ft of torque :D

Will all end when I get KO4 though

How? Your mpg sig is still only showing 36.5mpg, and reports on here are showing higher with the less efficient TFSI

I'd be delighted to see anything beginning with a 3 in it ! my computer only seems to know how to display 25.0 or 26.0...I don't drive like a loon...& don't carry much (not even passengers !)...ok I only do a 12 - 15 mile round trip most days..half dual c/way & half town - stop/start...but I did expect better...not sure what my best on a long trip is...maybe mid 30's on cruise.

Yesterday I tested on a long journey and managed high 40s to low 50s in MPG from wirral to birmingham, I think thats good for a petrol turbo. But it was soooo boring. 50-60mph, low revs, freewheeling down hills, etc. Even miss daisy would have said 'dang this is boring!'

On the way back I only managed 36-38mpg, I wanted a bit more enjoyment lol.

Maybe my computer is just too generous :smirk:

Mater,

What's the display in the top LH corner? Never seen it on my Maxidot

It's the compass from his columbus sat nav.
