Castle coombe prep!

Featured Replies

Well thought id give my car its first clean in preparation for castle coombe saterday!

Started with good old snow foam as the car was pretty caked in crap from the horrible weather we've had. Then rinsed off and on with the two bucket method using a mixture of zymol auto bathe and autoglym wash and conditioner. Repeated this process again! Then dryed car with two of cleanyoucar's own waffle weave towels. During the above i also cleaned my wheels with bilberry wheel cleaner!

I then went round removing any tar and so on i could see with autoglym tar remover and then out came the clay bar!

Then it was on with the minor paint correction. I've only recently acquired my dual action polisher so haven't got to hasty just yet. So it was just a light polish with sonus final gloss and a soft sonus pad all over to get out some minor swirls.

After this i just went over briefly with autoglym super resin polish as it does a good job in hiding swirl marks so if i had missed any the chances are it would hide them (note: it really isnt an easy task defeating swirls on a silver car out in the open!).

Then to protect the paint it was on with a couple of layers of r222 carnuba wax with really did give it a deep shine!

I cleaned up all the plastics with autoglym bumper care (Only recently started using this for trim but cant get over how impressed i am with the product, brings plastics to a nice factory finish and isn't greasy and thus does not ruin the finish of your cars paintwork unlike a lot of trim products!). Then once the trim was delbt with i moved onto the windows where i was rather lazy and just went straight for the autoglym windscreen polish!

I then sealed the wheels and applied some chemical guys VRP dress all to the tires to give a nice neutral shine.

Finally I left the car to settle for an hour and went over with nxt speed detailer and then chemical guys speed wipe just to get any excess residue of trim products and a bit of dust the glass polish creates!

Then it was just a case of driving down to cheddar with a couple of friends to get a few quick snaps, and ok we had fish and chips down there too, sue me ;)
