Weitec GT coilovers, How looow can the go? PICS PLEASE

Featured Replies

Excellent - how do they ride/lower etc?

Can't find any pics of yours in members cars...

Have a look at my pics, <<<<

I have weitecs, Its on 17's, rear is as low as it will go with adjusters out, front still had about another 5/10mm to go down

No scrubbing what so ever :D

I have since raised the front a little though, maybe 5/10mm only because the roads round me are **** country ones as it was just a little too low, cant really tell but it has made a difference

Looks great - are the adjusters removed from the rears?

I know this is a bit of a long shot, but has anyone ridden in a car with AP's and then ridden in a car with Weitecs, or vice versa. Just interested in what the difference in ride and handling is like as both sets are made by KW. The Weitecs have better quality bump stops is the only difference between the kits according to G-Werkes.

Yes they are

Personally I find the ride on AP's to be fine.

It is bumpy on certain roads, and you definitely notice it especially on poor city roads like the ones in Cardiff and on back roads.

But on dual carriageways and motorways its better than OEM.

I drive from Mid Wales to Cardiff every week on the A470 and I dont even notice that I am on coilovers.

I originally had the rear adjusters out but put them back in and the ride is much better.

I would say that with the rear adjusters IN on the AP's they dont sit as low as the Vmaxx but lower than the Weitecs.

On the rear of mine with AP's and OEM wheels I can fit two fingers between tyre and arch when handbrake is applied.

I am currently having problems with knocking noises since fitting, but I think has been CAUSED by the coilovers, rather than being the units themselves.

I've been in Wilf's car with APs and my car with Weitecs and the ride quality seems fine with the APs but I didn't really travel far enough over as many surfaces as I have with the Weitecs. Really pleased with them though so I'd definitely recommend them.
