Cut along story short, steering had gone heavy on corners. Check level in power steerin bottle and not even showing on the indicator. Topped up and all ok.

Its on an 02 1.9tdi with 105k on the clock. I've had to drop the frame to change the bushes so obviously rack was moved in the process.

Anybody tell me whether it is likely to be leaking or do they loose some over time or it could just be me messing with the frame and may be alright now????

if the steering system is leaking there should be oil residue somewhere , the only reason for low fluid level but no residue is that the rack has a leak internally , filling the gaitors up with fluid
