Electrics Issue or weirdness ?

Featured Replies

I dunno whether this an actual issue or anything, but after taking the keys out of the ignition after driving (obviously..) the radio has decided it wont go off, or the interior light come on untill i open the door. Radio also doesnt turn on when i start up.

It definatly never used to do that, possibly a setting i've inadvertantly messed with or summat.

Not sure if thats explained well, but i think it makes sense ...ish

It's a Fabia 1 1.2 60hp, roughly a year old.

Any thoughts or ideas appreciated

In my Fabia 2 level 2 estate my radio stays on when the ignition goes off, but when I remove the key the radio shuts down...the interior light will come on at this point if it is in the switched on position. I note yours is the Fabia 1 (meaning you have level 1 trim I presume). Don't know what difference this may make. As you say there are settings that can be changed and I believe these features are included in that. Has your battery been disconnected recently? Or, has the car just been serviced?

Was serviced about 2000 miles before this started, battery hasnt been disconnected, unless they did at the service and trim level 1 is what I meant

Only a mildly annoying point which knowing me, will lead to a flat battery one day by forgetting i have to turn the radio off

I never said there was a setting, i was saying there may be ;p.

Cheers anyhows

Sounds like an S contact problem. A bit of lock lubricant/graphite powder may help in the ignition lock, use it sparingly and work it in with the key.

But it managed to fix itself somehow... after i stalled trying to be a better driver than my age permits
