Interest in Castle Combe VW Audi driver day 25th July?

Featured Replies

Just testing the water as I need to find out prices etc from Autometrix - This event isn't ran by Combe itself like the Spring action day.

What I do know is you buy sessions in groups of 3 - You can buy 3 and use them up at any point during the day, or buy 6 and use 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Personally I will probably buy 3 sessions and see how it goes. There is also the option of simply being on the clubstand representing Briskoda of course (of which I realistically expect the majority of people to do as THREE track sessions may be beyond many)

Track sessions are used up as and when during the day so there is no gaurentee of being on with other people unless you all go together to queue at the same time. The same 15 minute sessions will apply. :)

I "guess" that a 3 session ticket will be around the £100 mark, including clubstand entry. That was the price in 2008.

Obviously this is a VAG specific day and autometrix basically says any VAG group car is welcome (and for some reason Porsche too! ) For this reason I would be fair in assuming that any non VAG cars are not welcome (their opinion not mine)

I am well up for it, anyone else?

OK - Have found prices and they are £105 for a half day (3) session and £190 for a full day (6) session.

Only 12 cars go on track at the same time apparently. If we had 12 or 24 briskoda cars with 3 sessions bought each, it should be easy to get Briskoda only sessions. :)

10% discount if you book before 17th June, making it £94.50 for a 3 session ticket / £171 for a 6 session ticket. Entry is STILL £7 to get in.

I have asked if we can have an exclusive session like we did today, but I don't think the system works like that. It is more of a trackday feel than the action day was. :) I will post up when I hear back from Autometrix. £100 is quite steep for 45 minutes of track time though, considering full open pit lane trackdays are usually around the £150-£180 mark....

Yeah, more then happy to come up and sit on the stand again! See how it goes

@ £100 it might end up being nothing more than a Briskoda stand-only session, but then I guess you get to spectate and see all the impressive machinery. Last year entry only was £7 so I expect the same is true this year too.

I think the year before I was able to turn up on the day and pay £30 for a session

Will be ideal if that is the case. I'm sure after our [borat] Great success! [/borat] on track yesterday that there is potential for another brisky sole track session.

Good news for me at least is if autometrix are organising my workload is basically NIL. Autometrix deal with all payments, etc.

Would we be able to buy the £100 sessions and then split each between 3 cars and people ???

Doubtful, but I shall ask them when I get a reply back from my initial email.

If we get some decent time on track I'd be more than interested in doing Combe for a second time, Jason ;)

well im up for it as i missed aprils:)

I'm available on that date so I'll keep an eye on this thread. Once you've got a better idea of prices etc. I'll be able to let you know.

Prices now added to first post. :)

I think £100 for 45 minutes ain't that great considering you can do, as you say, an open pit day for £180 (I priced it up on Monday)... may reconsider if turnout from Briskoda looks significant, though.

I'm looking into other open pit lane choices too though. ;)

I'm a deffo for 3 session ticket if you cant find another option

Stick me down for car on the Stand only at the moment and maybe going on track, if others want to do the track and get in before me then I don't mind.

I'm looking into other open pit lane choices too though. ;)

If we could get a few Briskoda members to Combe or another racing circuit for an open pit day I would be a definite attendee, assuming I'm free at the time ;)

OK - potential date found - thread started soon. ;)

Here is a link for VW day at Casle Coombe Autometrix Trackdays 2009

As Jason says those interested have to deal with Autometrix direct.

Hi Jason,

I was so impressed with the way briskoda track drivers conducted themselves on track I would like to be added to the list for VAG day in July. As this is my first track day I would treat it as a learning experience and will not drive outside my comfort zone.

Best wishes

John

Thanks John, seems like there will not be a Briskoda session (see link above your post).main thing is go out and have fun whatever car you have.Judging by the feedback everyone had a good time even thou some had greatly reduced time allowed to them.
