Bumper broke slightly and I have no rear middle seat belt

Featured Replies

Hi

If I wanted to sort this out on the bumper, is it a replace the whole lot jobby? I'm wondering whether to try gluing it back now before it comes off and is gone for ever.

See the pic for what I'm on about.

And the other problem is, I have the belt for the middle rear seat, but no erm....buckle? The bit thats on the belt, not the socket. I can't see how the hell it's come off and its not tucked under the seat. Unless I should RTFM and find its hidden away somewhere??? If it's gone, is this something that can be fixed "easily".

If its really loose, I'd snap it off now (so you don't lose it), then go get some proper plastic bonding glue and try to fix it yourself. For the fiver it costs for the glue its cheaper and a damn site easier than replacing the bumper!

After a quick look at my haynes manual it seems the belt mechanism for the centre seat requires the back rest being removed from the car first, then the plastic back cover to get to the mechanism. Strange hows its not there though, as it should be solid metal under the plastic so its unlikely to snap!

Cheers Cheers I'm baffled as to where its gone or how it would come off. Possible it was never on there I suppose. Stealers will deny it I guess though.

Depends on your dealer I'd say...

I can't see how you yourself could have lost the belt buckle as I'm pretty sure you'd have to undo a blot under the seat... and even then there should be a little kn0b of plastic on the belt it's self that stop the buckle sliding to the bottom that would have kept it on.. so I think if you go to the dealer and just say you'd always assumed it has hidden then they may well respond quite favorably, it's not like your doing anything obvious like "oh, yeah.. the ash try was never there" or anything.

As for the bumper.. how secure is it at the top? does it wiggle around or is it quite stiff?
