OS Maps

Featured Replies

I have made a planning application for a small extension and despite my efforts cobbling together a site location map Ive been informed that the council only accept official OS maps with a licensed number on it :o ..................... so where can I lay my hands on one without paying the inordinate ammount of money the OS want?

Any pointers or advice gratefully recieved

Photocopy in the public library?

Photocopy in the public library?

I'm guessing they want them at a much better scale than the normal Landranger maps that are sold over the counter

Not sure about over here but in Ireland a local architect/engineer would have a licence no they might let you use for a small fee... worth a try?

goto www.elgin.gov.uk click map roadworks and zone into your house, all the way in until it shows pretty colours, uncheck all the layers so it shows just the map. Its got a OS license number, but probably you can't legally use it... Our maps at work don't cover Hampshire, but won't the local council provide you with a scaled map?

Try the council's own website and look at planning applications, they all have to have a map attached - thinking out of the box maybe?

They'll prob mean they want the land registry versions, stamped with your properties code on it.

Land reg copies, unless you have one from moving recently, Cost a few £. £3 IIRC.

That's what we pay at work for PDF copies of land registry searches. :)
