one quick car

Featured Replies

i went out in my mates Focus ST yesterday with a Dream Science map on it boy that car just re-defines the word torque and I thought my octavia was was quick!:)

want to have a go in a Focus RS now

Is your vRS a MK1 or MK2?

If MK2 get a REVO remap on that and then you will be able to show your mate a Quicker car :P

Carl:thumbup:

My car completely dismantles ST's ;)

:iagree:

My car is redder than your car! :P

My car is bluer than yours tho and bluer is harder than redder :P

my car is far more whiterer than all of yours and white is the colour of champions!

A mapped ST would p*ss all over a mapped vRS, tbqfh :D

ST every time, it's not bad for a 20 year old Audi engine.

My S2 in standard tune is faster than my Mk2 vRS + map. Those 5 cylinders are pretty special.

In theory yes, in practise....no.

the trouble with these races on streets is its never quite equal and no one ever really tells the truth, the only real way is to a track day/drag strip etc where everyone knows the score.

i've played with cars that should easily beat me in various cars but if you get a jump on someone of even a second or two it can make a huge difference, in mavis i kept level with a guy in a tfsi A3 i think it was from about 30 upto 70(ish) and he was in a fairly new car with 200bhp and huge torques on his own versus me and andrew in a 20 year old torqueless AWD 1.6t thats not running running right, thing was i stuck my foot down and he reacted a couple seconds later, any other time and i think he would destroy me.

either way its all just a giggle :)

i thought those had a volvo lump in them?

That plus an ST is a lower starting point than an RS ;)

5pot turbo engine that is shared with volvo.

Not sure if volvo got the design of Audi a good few years back or something, but I can tell from a ride out in an ST that not only do they go fast, but my god do they sound nice on overrun :D

don't be daft, it's a fact that a mk2 vRS with a remap and some bolt-ons is as quick as a 350WHP Evo...an ST wouldn't have a hope

Only a 2.0 Fabia is that quick :D

mine is remaped Mk1 and we had a little race some time ago and he could not make any progress on me but ridding in it it just feels quicker and the low down torque is something else if anything i would call it lazy quick.

Mapped Mk1 so 210 bhp?

I'd still say he wasn't trying :)

220 standard and about 265 remapped, mk1 has no chance really.

My point exactly :)

In my simple mind a Stage 1 remapped Octy 2.0 TFSI VRS may just have the edge over a standard ST due to a little extra torque..... to be on a par (plus maybe a little more) with a ST with a simple map I'd reckon that you'd need a Stage 2 tunned VRS at least.... Which may explain Harry's comments?

The reason for my basic logic? The ST starts with a good 25bhp+ from standard, so you'll always be playing catch up in that respect

But...................

My TDI would out do the lot in 3rd gear up a slight incline between 2000-3000 rpm :D

when towing a caravan, on a tuesday, heading east, with 3/5 a tank of fuel and when the driver is wearing a flat cap.

:)

What if the ST was dirty and the RS just had a good wash and wax or would it depend on what wax was used? :rotz:
