one quick car

Featured Replies

Would have to be carnuba based wax and the ST would need at least 60 Fly splats on the bonnet and windscreen :P

when towing a caravan, on a tuesday, heading east, with 3/5 a tank of fuel and when the driver is wearing a flat cap.

:)

Don't tell me you thought that was a serious comment !

right back at ya :P

My car completely dismantles ST's ;)

Doesn't surprise me. A couple of bolt ons on the 2.0T makes them quite fast. In this vid i found on youtube a vRS with just an exhaust and intake and map (no upgraded pump or FMIC) the vRS goes against a Mazda 6 MPS and wins. vRS is camera car.

and compared to an ST with roughly equal bolt-ons (re-map, better intercooler, induction kit, turbo downpipe, flexi-pipe, sports cat, cat back exhaust) running around 315bhp and 410lb.ft?

Exactly!!

As I said a VRS is always playing catch up as it's down a good 25bhp in stock form. Yes, get a stage 1 map on it and it will out do a standard ST, however up against a ST in a similar state of tune your back to square 1

A mapped ST would p*ss all over a mapped vRS, tbqfh :D

ive been in and driven a remapped stage 1 and 2 focus ST before and they were ferociously fast. IMO it would easily keep up even beat a KO4 converted vRS which I have also driven.

Still id still take the KO4 vRS over the stage 2 focus ST though. its a better package overall, its just a shame its cheaper to tune up the ST(stage 3 remap only needs, intercooler, downpipe, and induction kit iirc) you need a new turbo and all sorts for the vRSand you'll still be behind

I concur with Harry. I didnt used to have any problem with fettled ST's in my Octavia, or indeed in the latter 6 months of ownership, the Fabia. Much to the shock of the ST owners. Oh well.

The Crocus does feel fast as the power is not as smooth as the Octavia. IMHO of course. The chavs like it that way.
