Grooved Brake Disc's or one's will holes in..........

...........or even solid ones, what's the advantages, disadvantages with them, are they weeker, liable to warp under heat or what...........I'm a bit confused  as what to get. Standard set up for a Fabia Vrs.

I think drilled brake discs are weaker.

DRILLED VS SLOTTED ROTORS

For many years most racing rotors were drilled. There were two reasons - the holes gave the "fireband" boundary layer of gasses and particulate matter someplace to go and the edges of the holes gave the pad a better "bite".

Unfortunately the drilled holes also reduced the thermal capacity of the discs and served as very effective "stress raisers" significantly decreasing disc life. Improvements in friction materials have pretty much made the drilled rotor a thing of the past in racing. Most racing rotors currently feature a series of tangential slots or channels that serve the same purpose without the attendant disadvantages.

You dont really need either unless you find the ones fitted are not up to your driving. Drilled are fine and my 312 zimmermans were awesome

Grooved ones help stop pads glazing and hole-y ones cool down quicker (but are prone to cracking).

Grooved and dimpled may be one way to go.

I have grooved and have had no problems 10k miles later

I must admit , I do like the look of the dimpled and grooved ;)

My son has these , he says they are better than standard too

I agree, Drilled ones are prone to cracking and dimpled ones have the advantages of drilled but no cracks. These are made by firms such as EBC (Turbo Grooved Discs). The only problem with many groves is noise. My Father had EBC's old designed TGDs with 10 grooves and they were very NOISY under Medium to Hard Breaking. I believe there new design with 3 or 5 narrow grooves are quieter. We has just replaced them with EBC's Black Slotted discs and are silent on his Scoobie.

Can I have some without grocer's apostrophies please?

Another vote for grooved and/or dimpled for fade resistance without the stress raisers, reduced heat capacity and cracking issues cross-drilling causes.

Yep I bought some of these for my 312 setup and have been really happy with them :D

ECP might be able to get you a pair of ATE Power Discs - these ones have minimal grooving to provide adequate deglazing and sheding of water, without the need for extra "to look good" grooves. They are quite cheap and not very noisy.
