lower brace for vrs octy

Featured Replies

do audi sell the 2 to bolts and washers to fit the lower brace or can any bolts be used , or does any one have any part numbers

Yes Audi do and you will need them, part no N 909 147 01 reiveted cap nut x2, N 104 679 01 hexagonal headed bolt x2 .

Just remember the felt side of the brace faces downwards. I've got one fitted to mine.

dragonfly, does it really make a difference to add the lower brace? The sub frame looks pretty solid as is.

I'm tempted as it is a very cheap and simple mod but am a little sceptical of its value.

Cheers,

All in all in makes a little difference, but for the cost and how simple it is to fit - it's worth a punt.

If fitted with the top brace it makes a world of difference, much tighter on the turn into corners.

I agree with Baretta, I have done both and the cornering is much much more positive.

Remember each little mod' adds to the overall improvement in handling and "feel".

Is there a special tool needed to fit this?

No just push the bolts through the holes in the strut brace, screw the captive nuts into them until they are fairly tight but not yet compressing them, offer it all up to the two holes on the bodywork and just tighten the two bolts up.

They will compress the captive nuts down and the whole thing will become tight.

Easy Peasy, and if you want to take it off, just undo the two bolts and the captive nuts remain in place for when you put it back on.
