Hi , I am probably one of your more mature members , I am a 45 yr old but still young at heart.

I am a taxi driver and of course one of the hundreds of thousands who drive a skoda. Why do taxi drivers love skodas? cause they are reliable and economical. I have an Octavia 1.9TDi ,its been re-mapped so I get 130 bhp now. when I take it really steady it has economical benefits too, I can get 52 mpg.

it has done 161,000 miles and I still haven't had a clutch replacement yet! my total repair bill over the last 5 years as come to £ 2337, ( not including general servicing) that works out at £145 for every 10,000 miles!!

I work with another taxi driver who has an Octavia 1.9 TDi 2001 reg which has done 493,000 miles on the same engine, I kid you not, I am serious !!

Anyway I will be on the lookout in the near future to buy an Octavia VRS Estate version so I would love to hear from anyone who has one for sale or who can help, thats what networking is all about ,isn,t it?.

I am a busy person I help my wife to run another business as well so I will be an infrequent visitor but will try and pop in to this site about once a week.

respect. Wilmil

Hello and welcome

hi and welcome along to the site.

Hello mate.

I'm pleased to have someone confirm that these cars are actually capable of interplanetary mileages (literally; the Moon is technically the smaller planet in a binary system).

Also I've got a few years on you, well one and a bit.

welcome to briskoda
