Black Grille surround

Featured Replies

Well I finally did it!

I also tidied up around the number plate. Had to remove my Germanplates.com plates as they're technically illegal and the plods are having a crackdown :( I thought it looked messy like this:

I haven't taken it out of the garage to take proper pics yet because it's dark :) Will do some tomorrow.

In the meantime:

And the grille:

soooooooooo cool!! B)

Cracking job Rob

If those are the size plates that you legally have to use then I think you've really made the best of the situation, looks much better than before.

Great improvement Rob,

The black / red contrast really compliment each other .

What preparation did you do to the surround surface before spraying it black?.

I like that

Looks like a good finish!

Gave it a good sanding and used plastic primer.

The primer was clear, which I wasn't expecting!

Looks great, Rob. Good work!

Wish I had not seen this...just popped out side to remove my grill and had a quick word with the guys in the paint bay, some beers later and I will be picking up my black grill surround tomorrow...here starts the modding bug..

Looks good.

Keep spraying Rob and you'll have the car the colour you always wanted :P:rofl:

Seriously though touches of black do compliment red very well.

You can pop the silver part out without any dismantling - it's held in by plastic tabs around the edges.

I just carefully released each tab using a big screwdriver and popped out the surround.
