Skoda Octavia vRS - new dampers with the original springs - NEED YOU ADVICE

Featured Replies

Powerflex wishbone bushes have now been modified and are on longer a problem.

Still not convinced on that......

I bought mine less then a year ago and they are already starting to try and pop through the wishbone, and they are curling up at the top lip. May go for super pro soon.

Yaro, take you time in buying and getting the bits unless you are flush. You started you thread looking at Wishbone bushes and suspension. Replaing the Wishbone bushes may fix your immediate issue. You can then decide how the car feels after that to follow up with any other mods, as unless the other parts are worn there is no imperitive need to change them. Also you will get a feel for what each mod will gain you.

If you are flush then maybe it is easier replaing the other parts whilst the car is being worked on in that area.

My motor had a lot of wear in a number of suspension components, so I ended up over time changing most parts. (just look at my sig)

My order to replace would be

Replace wishbone bushes

If the wishbones fix your handling then fit a RARB as mentioned

Then go for Koni FSD's plus H&R springs

My 2 pence worth.

It is very good to feel that you have help from professionals:-) Well, I shall stick to PowerFlex whisbone bushes then. Already ordered anti role bar bushes per clay suggestions lol and there is only engine dog bone mount to order which I do ASAP. Honestly, I can not wait when my Octy is ready. It all sounds very tempting :-)

Many thanks folks

That is really good to know lol

hope it sorts it all out for you mate, If the bushes do come out then take it back to the place you got them, also complain to Powerflex. it might give them the hint tp change their design.

It must be their poly mix? might not have it quite right?

also I dont wanna jus sound lkike I am slaggin Powerflex, but the superpro ones, although they are 1 piece they have a steel tube in them that I have heard corrodes, I do think its all down to the instalation of either bush as to what happens. If you look at FATTY5000 ones they look a tad dry to me????

my superpro ones have been on a year or so now and are still fine and ill try get a pic later but I think there is still grease on them not sure tho lol.

Surprisingly I got the set of bushes from PowerFlex today. They said 7-10 days. Nice, but I have got all parts yet :-) I must say that I am a bit worried as the front inner rear wishbone bush is a one piece part. The front inner front bush is a two piece part. Should I return inner front ones and get the SuperPro. Would this be safer move? I do not want to end up with having them popped out. What do you think?

My previous post is a bit confusing I think:-) inner back is one piece, that is ok, but inner fron is a two piece and this is what I am worried about? Should I go for SuperPRO with inner front and leave PowerFlex inner rear?

its up to you mate, the complete superPRO kit is £65 ish and they are matched. I have never known anyone mix them lol.

cant see it hurting???

I have never heard of anyone having any problems at all with the front wishbone bushes, only the rear ones before they were altered. They will be fine as I'm quite sure there is no way they can come out.

Many thanks for your support. I can rest in peace now and just wait for other parts to arrive and have my Octy sorted out then and we shall see what is going to be next... possible more power on the LPG gas conversion... :-)
