Castle Combe Race Day - May 4th

Featured Replies

so with the other half working the bank holiday i was let loose with the Canon 1000D for the day

here are a selection of the better shots (half cars and empty track are already "filed")

Quite please with the point & shoot ways of Digital SLR photography although the below dozen shots were filtered from about 700!!

Good to see James Colborne's Golf there, i think it's his local circuit.

If anything, i'd advise having a go with panning... Lower your shutter speed, set focus to AI Servo and possibly set to continuous shot. Pick a reference point on the car, for example, the wingmirror, and then pan with the car as you take the shot. Gives a good illusion of speed whilst keeping the car in focus. These arent the best examples, but all i have to hand at the moment. (Taken on my 450D, 1/250 shutter speed, f/9, ISO 200, 300mm focal length)

sorry i think u'll find my abilities stretch all the way to "turn knobby thing to auto" "push button than makes it go clicky-click"

this is panned a bit but needed longer exposure/lower shutter speed
