A little search turned up the micro switch in the door.

Anyone the part no.

And how much hassle it is for me too change it

Could just be a dry joint between the switch and the PCB. Doubt there is a specific partno for just the switch, more likely the whole unit, and thus $$$ :-(

from Skoda its the whole lock mech, best fix is a £2 switch from Maplins. search on VWVortex and there are links VWvortex Forums: MKIV door locks explained - why you're having problems!!! :( this is one is similar HTH

It worked this morning !!!!!

They can go flakey for a while before the die completely!

I did a pikey repair on mine with a tile spacer shaped with a stanley blade, but it only lasted 2 weeks. so will be off to Maplins when I get some time.. the biggest problem with mine was the LPG not activating as the feed was off the fuel pump primer!!!! took ages to figure out what was wrong.

Thats the one I kept refering to when I looked at mine, did a pikey repair as it was a sunday and I though it was going to be the resolder job.....

It's now randomly working lol.

I quick clout too the door lock area and works agin for bit, I assume it's just a dodgy connection ???

I will get round too having a crack at it soon, I'll put it on my list of tasks :(
