new shoes advice!

Featured Replies

right been thinking for a while now about what to do with my alloys on my fabia! I have a few ideas but would like some advice from members with experience in this :)

I am looking to either buy new or refurb my old ones black. I am going for a red black styled theme (i know original ).

1st does anyone on here have a standard red vrs with powder coated black rims? Pics would be great :D

2nd, the wheels i love...

BBS CH Black edition! 2 problems price and size!

I have found a replica wih a nice red rim for about 350 notes? These are also 18s! does anyone on here possible have these, or have similar ones? but also whats it like on 18s? I have read they are quite bad?

any help would be great like where to find these brand new or even at a 17" size, and pics of similar ones on members cars are even better

Can't offer much help other than saying that they'd look frickin awesome on a red fabia

What he said :thumbup::D

Nice!

Look awesome, also interested as to what guys think of running 18's.

Not my car and not the greatest pics but they may be of help

I'm still having this same debate. I can't decide which route to go. I have it down to 3 options after a year of pondering

1. Standard alloys powdercoated Black or Anthracite

2. S3 alloys powdercoated Black or Anthracite

3. BBS style alloys in Black with a Red lip. Definately 17" though.

Good luck deciding :P

i think you need to run 215/35/18's on a fabia to get the rolling radius and profile right without scrubbing???

IMHO I just think you would spoile the Pedigree of the car and just make yourself look a chav but each to their own. Im not saying they're not nice wheels all I am saying is they wont suit the Furby.

not to sure of the size will need to check, they say they fit an octavia? Thanks for the pic of the fabia with the powder coated wheels... not sure thats now the look im after! :D

I like the dub look and I think the BBS would give that just unsure of 18s with lowered suspension?

I have seen a couple of Fabia's with BBS wheels on, defo not chav?... is it? Thats the last thing i want :(

I think it would look good on the BBS but they would need to be 17's I think. I have seen a red MK5 Golf GTI with 18" BBS CH in matt black with a custom red lip and they looked awesome!

IMHO 18's are too big for a Fabia, they make it look like a roller skate:rofl:

if i could find 17s I would buy them now :(

Unlikely you'll find 17s, like I said :)

If they're 8x18s, then you might have a bit of trouble, especially on full-lock with clearance. The tyre size mentioned above is right - you'd need to run these, which doesn't leave you much sidewall flex/compliance and the tyres will look stretched and like rubber bands at 215/35 on a 8J wheel.

I have found a fabia with 18s on here

...but it looks like im not going to get any luck here don't want dodgy handling! :(

Here, here to littlebull, too large is definitely chav, stick with 17's.

The blurb from the sale;

SKODA OCTAVIA 1997 > 2004 8JX18" ET35 5X100...

It will fit, but you just need 35 profile tyres

out of interest what size are yours stuart? Yours is low too say the least and has very seductive BBS wheels on :D

Got to be 17", Too many bad things about 18" plus they look Stupid. As above, a Roller Skate LMAO!!

Well I think I'm not going to get these don't want a stupid car or one that handles badly! I just love these damn wheels. If any one has seen these or similar in 17s let me know

  • 3 weeks later...

how about a set of Pro Race 1.2s in black with a red lip? right size and light

There's nowt wrong with 18's, I've been running them for the last few thousand miles :)

Part from being out-handled by others running 16s and 17s of course :)

Each to their own an all that, I'll admit I think it did handle better on 17's, but looks wise I think 18's look the balls:P

You can get 205/40/18's on an 8'' wheel... just runs a tad stretch but doesn't rub!
