Seat Alhambra PD115 overboost sensor

Featured Replies

My brother has just got an alhambra PD115 with 50K miles on. He only had it a week and it lost all boost. The garage have traced it to a faulty overboost sensor and replaced it. However...they have also looked back at the history, and found it had one fitted 6 months ago for the same reason. Could it be coincidence, or is there an underlying problem?

All help appreciated.

Top two reasons for Alhambra Tdi performance woes are 1) MAF and 2) Leaks from the vacuum system assosiated with the turbo (several pipes which are prone to crack)

If you disconnect the MAF electrical connector and performance increases significantly, the MAF is gone. Never known of problems with the boost sensor (never heard it called an overboost sensor!)

Try www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/forum - there is lots of info there on faults.

Cheers skodakid...I'll have a look there. It was the garage that called it an overboost sensor.
