i have a 03 plate Octavia vRS saloon car, the speedo seems to be around 10% out, i know this is with in the legal limits but it is causing me annoyance. When im doing 70 my GPS 'new Road Angel' says 77, does anyone know what the standard speedo variant % is? or does it vary between all cars? Thanks silverfox

At an indicated 160MPH mine works out at 148MPH, as tested in germany. I think yours sounds very simillar to mine. I was using tomtom v3

:eek: Your speedo is not allowed to under-read at all. You dealer should be able to fix this.

Mine over-reads by up to 10% - eg 75 indicated is a true 70. But as SimonT has said, if yours is under-reading at all then it is illegal. Get it sorted by a dealer asap before the NIPs start dropping through the letterbox! :shocked:

My mate commented how accurate my speedo was on a drive from edinburgh to brum, We had 2 mobiles with satnav and all speeds were nearly bang on.

I have 18"s instead of standard 17" so unsure if that would help accuracy
