Picked up the vRS SE yesterday...

Featured Replies

I posted a thread a week or so ago about swapping my L&K for a vRS SE - finally picked up the new car yesterday and to be honest, any doubts I'd had about swapping such a well specced car for the Furb were completely blown away by the time I'd turned right out of the dealers! The car looks stunning and drives amazingly better than the Octy did. The dealer serviced it, put 4 new tyres on it and threw in a years road tax too.

My only slight gripe is the tyres they put on - Maxxis, anyone? I was hoping for Conti Sport Contact 2's or something similar. However, looking at a couple of random threads on the net about Maxxis, the opinion is that they seem to be a decent quality budget tyre. I had Talon Triangles(!) on the Octy and I've never felt so scared in my life when taking corners in the wet as they used to slide all over the place.

Anyway - pics below. Enjoy. And I know it needs lowering. :D

Thanks man. How do I obtain a sig pic like yours? I like!

a very nice motor. Have fun!!

You'd have to speak nicely to a member on here called TaylorHawkins, but he was only going to do 10 and I think he did all 10 of them already :)

That looks lovely.

I'm in the same boat with tyres- The Leon came with nearly new budget tyres (Millenium IIRC). They are OK, but not as good as a decent tyre. I'll replace them once they wear down a bit.

Cheers guys.

Haha! He done a blue one by any chance?! ;)

cjb - the tyres look ok and the car grips very well (so much better than the octy) but they sound a bit loud. Maybe scrubbing them in might cure that prob though. Same as you - I'll replace them in a couple months.

I bought new tyres myself, went for Maxxis MA-V1's and i must say they are top tyres! well priced mid range tyres, im more then happy with them!

Excellent news. I must admit, I'm more impressed with the Maxxis than I thought I'd be. I got the MA-V1's too. Their website looks good and apparently they are one of the top choice tyres for off road motorbikes.

Yeah man, I'm not a great fan of the 'slammed' look - I'd maybe like to drop it 20mm.
