Columbus & Maxidot Arrows

Featured Replies

Is there any one in the Notts area that can help me with activating the Sat-Nav direction arrows to appear on the Maxidot display from my Columbus?

Is it possible on a 2007 car?

I'm heading from cov to sheff up the m1 tomorrow evening so I could potentially meet you at Donnington or Trowell services early evening.

You could try shark_90 - he's at Mansfield and I think is pretty well up on most things technical

Thanks for the offer Wega3k but I can't make it:rotz:

Do you have a small compass in the top right of the maxidot display and the clock in the top left (or visa versa)? If so I assume you've already tried selecting the Navigation option in the Maxidot menu? If not, press and hold down the lower rocker on the wiper stalk for about 3 seconds. This should bring up the main Maxidot menu. Use the rocker to highlight the Navigation option and press the button on the underside of the stalk. If you have a destination set, this should then display the navigation arrows, if not it should be a large compass.

If you don't have the small compass in the normal MFD display or Navigation option in the menu, then the Columbus may not be properly coded & this would need doing with VCDS or the dealers VAS system. It all works on my 06 vRS, so should be fine on an 07MY

Thanks Uncle Bulgaria, The clock is on the right and there is no Navigation option within Maxidot.

I will have to look at the Columbus settings, well get someone to look at them for me.

You just need the module registering in the can gateway and you may need to turn BAP off in the sat nav module.

Can I register the can gateway? How do I turn off the Bap?

Oh.

Nothing I can set up from the Columbus unit then.

Nope :(

Well the module is registered in the CAN gateway and BAP was turned on but I turned it off and back on to see if it made a difference. Still nothing in the Maxidot and no Navigation menu either. Pulled the unit out to make sure the CAN wires were in the right place (don't know how they could be wrong, but worth checking) and everything seems OK.

Any more ideas? I guess it's worth taking the battery off to do a reset now I've turned BAP off?

Edit: I've just read on VWNavi that you need to reboot the Columbus when a coding change is applied. So perhaps BAP needs to be back on and then the unit rebooted.

Thanks for the help and time spent Shark 90

I will contact you later

When I coded Zebulun's 2007 car to turn BAP off, it took a bit of messing, i.e. rebooting the mfd3 and then turning the car off and back on.

Well I left BAP switched off, is there something else I'm missing? Never done one of these.
