vrs update

Featured Replies

Just an update on a few recent problems regarding my 07 fabia vrs. Firstly had the annoying stutter fixed by replacing new gasket drilled out to 10.5 mm which has transformed the car dramatically.[The stutter made the car terrible to drive before at low revs]. Also had problems getting the car into 1st and reverse and after visiting 2 different skoda dealers eventually telling me it needed new clutch after 18000 miles! [had only had the car a month]. They had quoted 480.00 but i had it done at the garage where the stutter was cured for 350.00 [dont know what prices other people have paid?]. This has cured the problem but i hope the clutch lasts much longer this time! Finally just had 30,000 mile service done at dealer which cost 280.00. This did include tightening of handbrake and brake fluid change but still thought it would have been a bit cheaper. 40,000 service has been quoted at 320.00. Are these prices about right?

£280 is massive for a 30k service. I paid £290 for my 40k and that included brake fluid change too.

With regards to the stutter - a £2 gasket and 5 minutes with a spanner is all it took.

40k service for me was about £250 from skoda before they added on the extra's been quoted £135 for a service and mot by a VAG specialist, but your price seems a bit steep.

Same for me regarding the stutter. Few mins and the guy said just a few quid for a drink.

I paid around £250 for my 40k service

Needed a couple of wiper blades, indicator bulb, oil change etc etc
