Insurance for remapped Octavia vRS TFSI

Featured Replies

I've been thinking about getting a remap and as my insurance renewal is due next month have been looking for quotes with and without.

I'm currently paying £327 with esure (2007 Octy II vRS TFSI, age 45, 8 years no claims, 3 points, 10,000 miles per annum, 1,000 miles personal business use, no other drivers).

The best quote so far with the remap (bluefin) declared is from Adrian Flux at £395. How does that compare with what others are paying?

I'm paying £860 for mine (24) so I wouldn't worry too much at £395!

Im paying 580 , 22 on a Mk1 Octy vRS...thats with Direct Line with 1 years named driver discount.

You got me thinking about how much I was paying for insurance at 24.

I think it was about £170... but then it was only for a 1 litre Fiat Uno.

It's all relative, I imagine £170 was worth a bit more than £170 is nowadays

My first year's insurance at 17 was £1332.65p TPO on a 1.4 H plate Astra. Couldn't pay monthly either as I was under 18, so had to pay the whole lot in one go.

Well I now have my Bluefin remap :D and accepted the quote from Adrian Flux.

If anyone else is thinking about a remap, do it when your insurance is due and avoid getting stung by your existing insurer.

If you phone Chris Knott they will beat adrian flux i was quoted £390 with them but chris knott did it for £350 thats with 11 years no claims 9000 miles and with all mods and there are a few .
