Featured Replies

i've had my vrs for a year now and happy with it but...............

now the fuel consuption has gone to pot and dont no why i get it serviced properly but now its start averaging 38mpg wft

i havent change the way i drive or the place i fill up but its dropped before i was averagingf about 46mpg which i thought was fair,

any ideas?

Check for fault codes, it may be over fueling due to a defective sensor.

Engine Temp, Fuel Temp, MAF, dirty air filter.

thought the engine mangement light would of came on if it was that

What's the condition of the air filter?

Above spot on; the 40K for a filter is ridiculous. I use a cleanable and wash it every 5K. Even then, sometimes the muck is impressive. It gives me a clean filter every 5K and I've great mpg. If all appears OK and new filter makes no difference, you could try cleaning the EGR - you'll be amazed what's in it - and the intercooler. You could do this anyway, nothing to lose and zero cost- and with the elephant's trunk mod it will stay clean. Cage mod works for some people too (for me no mpg change but no chattering when cold).

cage mod?

i get a new air filter every service so every 10k :)

Cage mod - see threads; basically putting silicone grease into connectors so you get either a good contact or no contact and the elctronics get a clean signal. HTH
