Are there implications on removing the struts behind the rear seats in the Octavia

Featured Replies

Is there anyone who can advise as to whether it is a good or bad idea to remove the struts behind the rear seats in the Octavia. Obviously they are there for a reason but how big a reason.

They are there for chassis stiffness apparently.

Its because of the lack of them on the estate version of the Octavia vRS that it only has 16" wheels, according to Skoda the estate chassis wont handle 17" wheels (err righto).

I'm not sure that I'd remove them. Its a large boot area to support. I know they are a pain, kitchen cupbaords don't fit in them very well with the braces !!

There could be warranty as well as handling implications. I would leave them be.

Practising Origarmi?

Personally I would definately leave them, I dont belive Skoda would put them there just to bugger up the load capacity..do you?

That's me fooked then.... I'm running 18's on my estate and no probs so far in 10k miles plus.

If they're a problem then remove them that's what I say.

Thanks,

Guess i'll leave them in then. Wanted to move them cause have put in a false floor. Didn't take the Struts into consideration and speakers rub on them.

Have to think of another way round it.

Cheers
