I got into Skodas completely by accident.

When I first turned 17, I was learning to drive in my mum's Peugeot 206. My feet are size 11, so I was someitmes having issues catching the pedals

My mum wanted me to buy another 206 for myself ('They look lovely', she said ), but naturally I was put off by the pedal issue and the fact that I didn't fancy a piece of French tat. One day I came across a W-reg red Fabia Comfort 1.4mpi for sale in town...hadn't considered them, and there looked to be more room inside than most superminis. Went for a test drive, lo and behold my feet had plenty of room, the rest as they say is history...of course that's when the bits started falling off

Found my current Fabia for sale in almost exactly the same place a year later, and although I'm looking for a vRS for when I can afford the insurance, I'm very happy with it for the time being :) It has taught me a lot.

i am 23 and just made the big leap from a 1.4 ford fiesta to a brand new octavia vrs limited edition had it for 2 months now, insurance is suprisingly cheap

I'm 32 still on a Felly, I think that you need to have had a couple of real sh*tters before you can really appreciate a Vrs.

Totally agree. I'm 27 now and my first 2 cars were an M reg 1.1 Ford Fiesta and after that a 2000 1.1 Peugeot 206 (which was a luxury for me at the time!). 5 cars (and lots of hard grafting) later and I'm now driving something with some go in it that doesn't cost me the earth.

I have friends my age driving Civic Type Rs, Fiat 20V Coupes and the insurance is just crippling for them. The guy with the Type R had to admit defeat and traded it in for a 5 door astra!

Those 'young'uns' who get everything handed to them on a plate are very lucky and don't realise it sometimes!

I'm now 22 and driving a TFSI Mk2 Octavia vRS and fooking lovin it.

Started my vRS career at 18 with a Fabia vRS, changing to the Octavia when I was 19.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only young Skoda driver about! I seriously thought I was!

In fact someone from my college pulled up in a 1.4 Fabia comfort today, after the ride I gave him in my vRS, I got him interested, quite evidently nothing like my car, but he loves it. Skoda is really seeing a turn around!

I still get the jokes though... But a tap on the accelerator and my friends shut up... Magic...
