Nope, still beating a lonely trail on CODWaW and COD4, have rediscovered COH as well now though, since the Tales of Valour expansion pack came out.

Maybe I should grab TF2 as I used to play the original a heck of a lot in the half life days

Yes... its much more satisfying than COD (until MW2 at least) - the Neo/apinner heavy/medic team are unstoppable

I can't get that to run - installed and get as far as actually launching the mission, then screen goes black and hangs. Others have the same problem it seems on the forums, but no fix that I saw as yet.

I used to play as a sniper or engineer, I was pretty good with deploying sentry guns and the upgrades (do they still exist in tf2?)

Does the sniper rifle still need to be "charged" Will see how much it is on Steam as I don't need the orange box and add it to the macbook (COD runs fine on it so HL2 stuff should be ok)

Orange box is cheaper.. its £16.99 for loadsa games.

Yeah engineers still have sentries and upgrades and the sniper rifle does have to be charged. I think you will find TF2 has changed a whole lot since TF1. I had not played it before until ColG told me it was good about 4 months ago. I have been addicted since. It is easily the most fun online game i have ever played.

the Orange Box includes Portal which, if you haven't played it already, is a little gem of a game.

Was a big fan of TF1 in the HL days. TF2 is more like a cartoon of TF1. Still very addictive.

The kids play it a lot on our server.

Barely have time for COD4 and 5 these days except modding or the occasional pcw. and practically never get into our L4D server. , need to give up work:)

Well i fancied a play around and i was fed up of queing to get on my favourite servers, so i went ahead and rented one and created my ideal 32 slot server for a month to see how it worked out.

Got a beta key for battlefield heros, not got into it much yet... it's similar in sprit with a cartoon like appearence... not sure if thats the presented image or my vague reflection though.
