Is it worth it?

: the wing I think will be ok but you cant just spray one wing as it wont look right

I had a wing completely replaced. If the shop is any good, you wont notice the paint difference. I've had a few people look at mine and nobody could see a difference between new & old paint.

If it were me I would be more worried about potentially more noticeable paint differences if the whole front is done. I had the front bumper partially repainted after a tip, and where it was resprayed is way more prone to stone chipping than the factory paint. I presume if you are getting the bonnet and both wings done, the front bumper would also need doing.

Sorry to here about the small bump.

The wheel may well be ok, if after cleaning/drying the damaged area is a little mat in finish then it should be possible with a buffer to get the shine back.

Word of warning if it needs replacing. Even if you have them declared on your insurance, most policies including mine will only cover the replacement of the wheel with an OEM one.

No the numbers you have listed are et 38 (offset) and probably the week they were made.

The number you need is on the rim underneath the tyre so you won't be able to see it.:P

TD will be able to sort you out will all the codes,so you will be ok.

cheers mate,

sent them an email.

the numbers I am on about ar in a little rectangular box in one of the spaces between the spokes.

14238 then next smaller box over is 5

14238 8

11238 15

1 238 10 (the one thats marked

not sure. the number you on about is i think dotted in to the rim isnt it?

I asked that when I took the policy and was told it was one for one. If the TD got broke they will get me a new TD to replace it.

cheers for the heads up tho. I was thinkin it will buff up as it was only a plastic bumper, and notw its clean you dont notice it unless you look a certain way and fairly close as the shine from the rest of the wheel hides it. but the point is I know its there.

Do you reacon that the factory paint is harder coz of the clearcoat they put on?

Sorry about your problem mate, something similar happened to me the other day, some **** head was driving towards me, and god knows why just shot into the middle of the road, i no choice but to steer to the left, then, BANG, curbed the bloody wheel....

I was gutted. But got a quote of between £100 - £200 to repair the wheel. So will get that sorted in a couple of mths, when funds allow.....

Take it easy mate.........:)

Last year I was rear ended at very very low speed by a ford escort, and the plastic bumper on their car left what looked like serious grazing on my car which I didint think would shift. A lot of elbow grease using a decent polish and its all gone. Looking at my car now you cannot see any sign that anything had happened.

Went to see them and he came out with some stuff and polished it all up. it looks ok as he did a fast job so I am going to take the wheel off today and buff it up nice wi all the products I have, it is bearly noticable now and just needs finnishing off.

the arch will just need a polish too as you cant see the damage now buts still needs a bit of work.

UPDATE.

Took the wheel off today and polished it up.

Sonus sk??? 1

Sonus sk??? 2

CAR LACK

Poorboys sealer

took me nearly 3 hr of buffing but the wheel looks as good as new. there is a small bit (stone ship size) that you can feel an indent/rough patch but you cant see it. After a few coats of car lack they are smooth again and you cant tell anything has ever happened. I then sealed the wheel with poorboyz sealer.

The arch is also ace again, it polished out nicely and after the two sonus things and a coat of carlack you cant tell.

HOW CHUFFED AM I?!

well she is all clean for the MOT on Tues. Lets hope she passes. lol

Oh n Well done to Jenson once again!
