Thanks for all the pictures and ideas everyone.

I just have to weigh up now, get some 17" vRS wheels and have them re-furbed in black or get some Team Dynamics 18" in black.

A couple more questions actually, where is the best place to get some TDs and can anyone advise me on the best value for money/decent spec tyres around at the moment in 18"?

Thanks again!

Cheapest place for TD wheels is Ebay.Your looking at around £500 + delivery for 18's without tyres.

This car modding lark is pricey isn't it mate!

I really want 17"s. I think they would be perfect for the comfort and road handling but everyone keeps telling me they will be too small and look silly!

Looks like I'll have to get 18"s and lower it after all...

if you get 18 you dont need to lower, I was gonna go back to the std spiders and lower mine but saw the TD on ebay, got them wi tyres for 700 iirc from billyboys tyres in sheffield i think.

the car doesnt look too bad on std suspention but I wasnt keen on the front havin such a gap between the wheels and the arches, hence the coilovers, but the bak was nice.

the 17 will be better comfort and noise wise mate, also depends on the tyres you use. I usin the SP712 that came with them, not bad hard and fairly grippy in the dry, not good in wet tho lol.

I put my std spider spare on yest so I could clean up the front one that som woman ran into and scratched it te fook. and OMG did it look nice, a bit small and didnt stick out as much but I actually liked it.

all the best mate

Do rs4, rs6 or the standard spiders refurbed in Antracite look best? on a red car?

Thanks mate, as usual you've been very happy.

I've narrowed it down then at least, if the 17"s look ok in black I'll go for them but if not it'll be the 18"s and lower it.

I really need to find some pictures don't I!

Thanks again mate.

I may be fitting mine sooner than i thought so give me couple of weeks and you can see what 17" TD look like.;)

You can get the pro race made to order so the offset can be a little more so they stick out a few mm more.

I was looking at a set of 17 x 7.5 et33 which i was told will clear Brembos if i go down bigger brake route, without the need for spacers.

What colour is your car?

Are you sure they make them? I looked and all it says is a mixture of numbers, I wanted 18x7.5 but they dont do them even tho it says they do. they diont make them in 5x100. if you see what I mean?

DELCAC was after some TD to go over his brembos but said they dont make them with the correct et???? so make sure. Or if you go BB then go for compbreaks 6 pot ones that fit under the sttd rims no prob.

Jay, mine is in silver. It'll be bog stock on the outside other than the wheels and a LCR splitter.

What's the spec on yours mate?

Don't know about the 18 x 7.5.

I spoke to Team Dynamics Racing and they told me i could have any ET within a range as they would make them to order as long as i ordered though a dealer.

It was Des who told me ET 33 will fit over the Brembos.

TD were very helpful.

Look down in my sig.;)

I'm want to order a set of TD pro race 1.2 in Matt black as i think these will look great on a silver vrs.

Dealer probably didn't want the hassle.

I did speak to a couple of dealers trying to get a good price and some said 'sorry can't get that size' but TD said anything can be made up.

They sent me a template to check offset against my car so i can decide on 7.5 or 8".

don't put on wheels to big or it will look like a giant rollerskate.

don't put on wheels to big or it will look like a giant rollerskate.

It depends on the design of the alloys.

I'm constantly changing my mind on what wheels I want!

First it was the 17" Speedline 2120's, then it was the 18" Mk4 R32's, then new 17" RS4's, then 17" Borbet LV5's......

I've always bummed the 16" Borbet A's, and I think they'd look good on a lowered vRS.

But now I'm bending towards Rota Slipstreams, 17" in gunmetal with polished rims. I recon those would look the nuts! Shame they don't come in the correct PCD!!!

Borbet LV5's are worth a look though. They look like a cross between the new Saab wheels and vRS wheels:

Thanks

Got them from Revolution in Gateshead, same sort of price as ebay.

Took a few weeks to decide what to get.

Does Glenn still own Revolution? I went up to give Glenn a hand to open the shop when he first started the business. Some years ago now.

8 x 18 TSW Kaylami's . . . . No Drop . . . yet!

IMO I dont think you will get a better looking wheels for a car as big as an octy as a deep dish hockenheim style.

Mr Pearce, those 20's still look coolio and even better in the flesh.

Love the house btw :P

That sits ust right mate, is it lowered much?

To be honest i dont know how much it is lowered by. Its on H&R Coilovers so you can set them to where you like. At that height i found it okay but i have since raised the rear up a touch and its improved it a bit :)

Kind Regards

Garry

:thumbup:Nice wheels mate.

I was considering white on black a couple of years ago but went the other way black on black:D
