Featured Replies

Today been detailing my wheels ready for tomorrows big detail and noticed on the arch that the paint has peeled off and the metal work is rusting! Surely it cant ctart rusting already after 3 years? Just wondering if it can be sorted by skoda even though my warranty run out last week  I dont know if you get 5 years on paint or i might be dreaming?? thanks

I hope its 10 years as i was gob smacked when i saw it! Probably me cleaning it to much. :D

3 years for paint, 10 years anti-perforation, so it's 10 years *IF* the rust has come through from the other side.

Wheelarch most likely will be stated as stone chip damage so not covered.

I have a rusty arch as well - offside rear. Going to need to get it sorted myself due to it being one of those areas where tyres can flick up stones, etc and damage the paintwork.

I would say that this could be the result of a repair job that was less than perfect. Might have looked good when the car was purchased but is now showing through. 3 years is far too quick for rust to show..besides being from VW family you'd have thought stuff like this simply wouldn't happen. OK, SKODA paint is not the best, but 3 years? :thumbdwn:

I have what appears to be a 'blister' coming up on the roof. I'm fairly certain that the car was touched-in at the dealers when new and rust may be starting to come through.

It'll be interesting to see what the dealer says when I take it in.

Contrary to your statement about the paint, Skoda has the best rated paint shop in the whole VAG group in terms of quality KPIs, so I would say that Skoda paintwork is pretty good.
