How old was your Amstrad box???

If it was less than 90 days old you should have got a new box not a reconditioned Thomson. The Thomsons really struggle with the new EPG unless you've replaced the PSU etc.... :thumbdwn:

Cheers

Dave.

I have the Pace one at the moment, my only niggle is that you have to really be pointing the remote dead centre of the box for it to recieve a signal, other than that the TV looks good and no lag that I have heard about on other boxes.

The cableguy offered me Pace or Samsung but suggested that I took the pace as my TV is a samsung too and the remote signals can confuse the two

The Amstrad one was about 2 months old.....but I don't mind so much as the Thompson one is a lot better and seems to work fine on the new epg

I had my Amstrad replaced by another faulty new Amstrad the week after it was installed. At that point i told Sky i wanted a new box but wasn't willing to accept another Amstrad and that i wanted a Pace if possible or a Samsung at a push. They turned up with a shiny new Pace box the next day. It's a hell of a lot faster than my folks Thomson box, You can tell the new EPG has been designed for the Pace, Samsung & Amstrad next gen boxes and not the original Thomsons.

You can still ask for a new box just tell them you were out and the mrs didn't know the box was a re-con.

If you take a look on the AVforums you'll see a hell of a lot of posts regarding Thomson boxes failing after having the new EPG. My folks are considering buying a Pace or Samsung as their Thomson box has gone from needing a reboot once a week or so to every day or two now.

Cheers

Dave.
