Honda Accord Tourer

Featured Replies

It's getting to the time where I'm thinking about changing my car......and seeing as the new Octy RS won't be out until 2006, apparently, I thought I'd look around as see what else is an option.

Had a look a Honda Accord Tourer...2.4 VTEC or the 2.2 TD....looks nice and is well put together. Got good space.

The Executive model has an upgrade sound system with built in Sub Woofer and full leather.

Also has a funky automatic open and close rear hatch.....none of this BMW-latch-it-first-then-it-closes-itself malarky.

Haven't had a drive but I know that the 2.4 isn't going to be as quick as the RS and the economy is going to be worse. The diesel is supposedly very good and I could always get it remapped.

It also looks a little different...always an important point for me.

So any major down points.....Yes....it's bl**dy expensive. Much better to get a very low mileage 1 owner for around

Get the accord :) or hunt down a SAAB 9-5 Aero estate :D :D

Perhaps I should just get the big turbo kit......much cheaper.
:agree:

Good choice with the Accord must say they have caught my eye to. As for the Saab I'd rather have a big pile of steaming dog poo with wheels on (my personal opinion only - having owned two saabs) as it would do better mpg, breakdown less, cost less to service and depreciate a bit less.

I went looking for the 2.4 vtec exec estate before ending up buying the octy vrs.

On hindsight - it was a wise move. The depreciation is not good, but if you can live with that - the toys are nice.

However, on looking at them now - i think they look like hearses...

Glad i didn't buy one now.

just get a v8 MG and sod the economy!

or a tidy and different option would be the Saab as Jon says... or to go left field completely how about a Signum - 6mths old with all the toys for less than a packet of crisps.....

If you get a black one then I deffo can see where you're coming from.

Hired a saloon version on holiday, and it's a good car. Nothing that would particularly make me buy it though, it's just a good car for going to A to B. Fuel Economy isn't too bad, at around 30mpg. And it looks best in Dark colours or Silver. Bright colours like red, blue and gold just don't go IMHO.

Paul, how did you know I'd looked at 6 month old Signums?

Don't like them.

Have seen a 52 reg Zaffira GSI.....full leather and dvd player....front headrest mountd screens. IIRC the mileage was 16k and the price was

Hmm....Zafira GSi...

A certain Mr Panrix attempted to play with one of those things (with 2 x HUGE tailpipes) on the A1 heading down to Trax...the damn thing was flying. Common sense prevented me from going off in pursuit...

What Geoff is politely trying to say is that a van with electric windows and 2 x HUGH exhausts nailed a certain Mr Panrix on the way down to Trax good and proper..... :D

Go for it Adrian and then sell me some cheap bits ;)

I think the zafira gsi is awsome, really fancied one but the price was a bit too much for me thats why i opted for the octy, even in standard form they look cool but i just wanted one because there a bit different,i reckon if it was lowered a bit and sat it on some nice wheels with a couple of engine mods then you really could be daddy cool  i think the main reason i wanted one was because i thought my private plate (B16 GSL) off my previous gsi would be more appropriate on a zafira :D
