STREETWISE in bristol.

http://www.streetwise-automotive.co.uk/

A nice clean place, family run. Very friendly lot and Mitch answered all questions. They know their stuff and do a very good job.

If you use the tom tom to find them and it says your there then keep goin to the end of the road and turn right. I was a bit worried when I couldnt find them as the entrance is round the corner.

Also If anyone wants a TIP like the neuspeed one then this one on Ebay fits and works nice, its also a lot bigger than the std one.

VW Golf Jetta Beetle 1.8T Audi TT Turbo Air Intake Pipe:eBay Motors (item 250428365331 end time Jun-19-09 07:02:36 PDT)

tis half the price and works jus as well IMO. Doesnt look as good tho as the Neuspeed but so what lol.

lol yea, will go well in green but cant afford it really as I not got a job yet.

billy

well you could drive down the m4 and give me a hand fitting mine lol :D:thumbup:

Good stuff! how much did you pay for the tip mate with postage etc? if you dont mind me asking, have you noticed any difference with it fitted. cheers.

lol

I payed £50 for it and was £24 postage from the us and it came 3 or 4 days later. There is a nicer whistle from the turbo and the DV is a little more noticable. The car pulls harder too, it really is good for the money, the one thing tho is it is a tight fit in amongst all the pipes and the small pipe that goes on to it is a bugger to get a zip tie on let alone a jubilee clip. but it doesnt matter as it is pushed on very firm and tight.

billy

WESTALLC, were are you mate?

Can i ask why you went for the metal one as opposed to the one piece silicone jobbie?

I sold the Autobahn 88 one lol as at the time it looked a pain to do and I made a few ££ lol

I got this one cos it is a replacement for the std pipe and bolts on instead of jubilee clips on lol and it is easier as there is only one pipe to take off lol and it looks std which I like. I am even gonna spray the CAI pipe lol. Black of course.

I have also heard that the Single one dampens the sound, either the DV or the turbo?????

I have looked at the std one and OMG its small and the hole is small and very restricted.

All I need now is a DP to go onto the 200cel cat and I can get her tweeked for a few more hp lol

billy

Thanks for that claytarget_god might just have to get one.

because the straight through silicone jobbies have a good record of blowing straight off on high boost

and the metal ones are so oem lol:D:thumbup:

Blowing off! but the turbo will be sucking. Never had any trouble personally.

well okay the silicone one is just gay and not oem :D;)

p.s yes the turbo is sucking but there is a pressure build up at that point and if you cannot get the silicone on tight enough it will blow off:eek:

also the metal ones are so much better in every way shape and form because i have one so ner

and me so ner,

Tis down to preferance i think lol,

I couldnt be bothered removin all the other pipes from the std pipe, and this one is cheap and easier to go on and it bolts on and as said looks OEM.

I was also not sure about high temps and it degrading the silicone one after a few years.

Hi Billy.

Glad you got the TIP fitted:thumbup: I take It you didn't fit It with the car on axle stands:rofl:

I went for one of those you bought off fleabay originally, not necessary the same seller & had to send It back as It didn't fit onto the turbo:rolleyes: So I went for the Forge silicone hose instead.

lol yea i remember you sayin mate, it frightened me a bit lol so I asked a few ppl for the measurements of them and they were fine and streetwise fitted it no probs lol.

My belly was a bit too big to get under on stands lol so didnt bother, was easier to get it done by someone else.

It is fairly easy to do id say if you can get under the car. and the sound is not that bad really. if you keep the std box then I would say there is no point in gettin the TIP as the std box feed is about the same size as the std TIP, If you get a CAI then I would say get the TIP as then the only restriction is the turbine housing entry. If you have CAI on already then the sound will jus be a bit more whistle and it will be a slight bit deeper but nothing as bad as a NA car with a filter. jus say that as one has jus flown up the 30mph road out the front on his limiter as he does every day(T**T) cant wait for the day it pops lol I will go out and laugh my head off at him.
